A bit about me

Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by. I created this page because basically, my brain was too overwhelmed with my thoughts and it was stopping me from sleeping. When this happens, it generally means I need to get those thoughts on paper (or digital) before they consume me too much.

I do enjoy writing, in fact I self-published my own fictional novel last year. That all stemmed from a bunch of ideas that needed to be written down.

Anyway, that’s a topic for another blog.

In 2021 I am witnessing the decline in free speech, in having your own opinion and am seeing an increase in manipulative media tactics and fear mongering. All this is cause of great concern, and it’s what’s been keeping me awake at night. Perhaps before I became a mum, none of this would have really bothered me, but since entering the new world of motherhood the future affects me on a whole new level. And if I don’t fight for my child’s rights, who will?

That’s where I hope this page will lead me. To a place where at the very least I am making my voice heard, I am questioning things that don’t seem right and hopefully encouraging others to do the same.

Of course, that won’t be all this page focuses on. I love my footy, I love my family and I love life in general, so no doubt there’ll be contributions to those topics as well.

Who am I? In terms of experience, I’m what you’d describe as a “nobody.” I don’t hold a university degree, I don’t have any writing experience (other than my self-published novel) and I’ve never been that interested in politics. But you know what, hopefully that’s what makes my posts relatable. Because I’m just you’re average Joe that’s had her eyes opened. While I don’t have that top notch uni degree, I think I’m pretty well educated and “switched on” and I think you are too. So do yourself a favour, open your mind and be willing to question everything. You might not like the answers, but it’s better than putting your head in the sand.

If you don’t start waking yourself up then ultimately, you’re just sleeping at the wheel, and that’s a very dangerous place to be.
